Teaching Practice Problems

Teaching Practice Problems

  • Classroom teachers put greater emphasis on ensuring that learning is well structured rather than focusing on student-oriented activities which give them more independence. This includes excessive focus on state mandated testing.
  • Teachers need to be more multicultural aware of their students and be better prepared to practice culturally responsive teaching. Teachers must provide an environment that comprises of lesson plans that all students, including English language learners, can participate in.
  • Issues have risen between formative and summative assessments and the required testing format used to evaluate student learning. The formats of assessment include multiple-choice, fill-in-the blank, essay, true or false. Problems occur when teachers use the wrong format to gather feedback from students.
